So what's Gladio Day 2021?
Gladio Day 2021 happens on Gladioʼs birthday 2021 April 02. We’re aware that a lot of character events also happen on the same timespan but we didn’t want to miss out on any opportunity to give our Best Shield some more well-deserved love. So we thought we could at least come up with a short event that will hopefully be chill enough for everyone to join us!
500 words? 5-minute sketches?
What's with the number 5?
2021 is the 5th year since Final Fantasy XV was released so if you think about it, this is Gladioʼs 5th birthday!
But more to the point, we thought these are the best achievable efforts to allow as much people to participate in the event. Putting it mathematically, if you wrote 125 words every month until April starting January, you would already have 500 words by Gladio Day 2021! For artists, you could set aside 1m and 15s of your time every month to complete a 5-minute sketch.
For the record, these are soft maximums. Meaning if you don’t have the energy to create beyond 500 words or 5 minutes, that’s totally cool! But if you want to write 5000 words or draw for 50 minutes, that’s also cool!
So no prompts? What's the rule?
If we were to set a prompt for Gladio Day 2021, it would most definitely be birthday—which is already a given even without us telling you.
The only hard and fast rule for this event is that we ask the content to contain no ships and to focus fully on Gladioʼs character. We’re looking for some 100% Gladio-centric content for the event!
No ships?? What gives!
We thought we might try for a non-shippy event this year as there are already more than one Gladio shippy events coinciding on the same date. While we do understand that a non-shippy Gladio is not right up everyone’s alley, we thought it might be fun anyway to bring a bit of the spotlight back to the character! There’s already all sorts of stories about Gladio as a lover but how about Gladio as a camper? Gladio as a reader? Gladio as a son?
Will you accept late or early entries? Are you still accepting late entries to Gladio Week 2020?
The events are called Gladio Week and Gladio Day but honestly, that guy deserves a Gladio Lifetime, y/n? Having said that, late entries to Gladio Week 2020 (check the prompts and guidelines here!) and late and early entries to Gladio Day 2021 will most definitely still be welcomed!
